B-WISER stands for buckeye women in science, engineering, and research.  This premier science camp serves teenage girls interested in STEM fields throughout the state of Ohio.  The residential program includes daily courses with a full laboratory experience to advance campers’ skills in a range of scientific disciplines.  Campers stay overnight in college dorms and utilize campus laboratory facilities.

B-WISER welcomes new participants currently in 7th or 8th grade to register for this immersive science experience.  And we offer B-WISEST science camp for 9th and 10th grade girls.  Note these are both girl-centered programs open to all students who identify as a girl/female in any way; please see our gender inclusivity policy for more information.

Students take a full daily curriculum with classes in physics, chemistry, biology, geology, robot construction, and select advanced topics.  This cooperative learning experience boosts self-confidence and inspires girls to pursue their passions.

Girls in B-WISER camp also meet professional women in science who share their journeys in a wide range of disciplines, while B-WISEST campers participate in college-readiness seminars.  And in the evenings, campers participate in hands-on programs covering a variety of additional STEM topics.  Click for a sample daily schedule.

Founded in 1990, B-WISER has inspired and empowered thousands of young women to pursue science courses and STEM degrees.

The next session takes place from June 16-21, 2025 on The College of Wooster campus in Wooster, Ohio.  B-WISER seeks to be an affordable option for every interested student.  And students who qualify for the free and reduced school meals program might qualify for scholarship funds to further reduce the cost.  Please click the enroll tab to view the pricing structure for the 2025 camp session and to register.

B-WISER Science Camp is a non-profit in association with The College of Wooster.  We depend on the financial support of prior participants, community members, and grant funding.  Please click to DONATE to B-WISER.  Your donations help us maintain the quality of the program while keeping it affordable for participants.  Our goal is to be accessible to everyone.  Thank you!
